HelpSmith is a visual help authoring tool for easy creation of HTML Help files, Web Help , and Printed Manual Documentation using the same source. The stand-alone and very easy-to-use environment has a powerful Word-like unicode text editor for editing help topics with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with graphical and video files, and many other unique features.
HelpSmith, the help authoring tool from Divcom Software, provides you with an easy way to create technical documentation from start to finish and also allows you to import help topics from Microsoft Word (.RTF), .HTML, and plain text files that can be written in multiple ANSI character encodings.
You can use HelpSmith to provide help files for your software in popular help formats including context-sensitive HTML Help CHM files, a standard help format for program's Help in Windows. HelpSmith has complete support for all the features of CHM Help, so you can build the tree-type Table of Contents, keyword index, also you can edit and create custom html help's help windows, and so on.
If you worked with other help creation tools before, HelpSmith has the Import facility, which lets you import your existing help projects saved in MS HTML Help Workshop's HHP format or even directly from compiled html help CHM files.
The WYSIWYG principle makes the process of using HelpSmith as easy as using a regular office application. And, actually, you do not have to learn any technical details to develop professional electronic and printed documentation with HelpSmith.
