PLP is an easy-to-use program that will help you manage your portal website. Some common areas of PLP usage: realty management, auto management, job management, downloads management, listings management, image galleries, etc. Payed membership is supported. PLP enables you to build Web-portal/classified ads solutions in minutes from any database with any custom fields. The custom fields may be simple text boxes, text areas, files to upload, etc. Any solution using category/items listing may be built using PLP.
PLP's features include a powerful search engine, top visited items, new items, editor's pick, 'tell a friend', feedback, add new resource, hit counting, voting, reviews written by site visitors, template-based design, Web-based template editing, and advanced mailing lists with message logging, etc. Site visitors can register and create account, retrieve lost password, manage favorites and favorites folders, send them to a friend, enable scheduled random-links mailing service, and define mailing frequency, amount, and criteria for desired links.
PLP was created with high performance and scalable technology using PHP and MySQL, some of the key features which distinguishes it from similar portal solutions are scalability and ability to generate HTML site content from databases with custom database fields. PLP enables you to set up accounts for editors with access to assigned categories only and limited administrator rights. If you have large site with many visitors, you may have some people who will manage resources, sub-categories, and reviews only under their assigned category. The supervisor has full control, his account cannot be deleted, and he may manage editors.
PLP is a powerful engine expressly created for generating HTML content from databases with categories and items. No more high server overhead from SQL queries - only content displayed on HTML pages. This is really vital for sites with high traffic.
