Hosted resources are accessed with their URLs through normal Internet Browsers without any plug-ins or additional software. Content resides on your computer and when requested by intended recipients, is served into their browser.
Purplenova is secure - you specifically designate files to host, and readers do not have access to your PC. Either 'Private-hosting' or 'Public-hosting' is possible for each resource. You can also choose to make your hosting SECURE, in which case an additional password is required to access the resource and the information is transmitted encrypted end-to-end, leveraging the SSL protocol. Unless you have explicitly cached your files, your computer needs to be on when the content is accessed by the reader.
